Well, I found my 2nd beater vehicle to get around town in

Just bought it. . .

A 1990 Dodge Ram 150 truck. Bought it for 1100 dollars. Seems to run ok. Wasn't leaking anything. Owned by an old couple next to me. Was his work truck. Brand new tires. New plugs, new battery, new starter, new water pump. Engine has 130k miles on it. I just want it to drive like 3-6 miles a day in so gas won't be too bad I hope. I know it gets horrible gas mileage. . . had a bit of a dent from where a deer hit the tail end once - nothing bad.

Anyway, I thought I'd see what you guys have to say...

I walk it some days. It is just bloody hot around here. In the winter, I walk alot more. I would stink like a pig if I did it during the summer.

Were you the guy looking at that old aerostar?

For that vehicle it sounds like a fair price. I know here in AZ a running truck is pretty much always worth at least $1000. One with 130k on it and no leaks would easily get twice that.

Yea that was me looking at the aerostar - however, I missed out on it.

So this was my 2nd attempt, and I got there in time 😛

Sounds like a decent vehicle. What engine does that Ram have? Is it the 318? That is a great engine of course. I don't remember if they still installed the slant 6 in 1990.

Around here even when it is 90+ biking to work is not that uncomfortable. I wear shorts and a polyester shirt because it dries really quickly and then just change my shirt at work. You can also use baby wipes to clean up if needed.

I'd love to see anyone bike in the state of Florida more than .5 a mile and suit and tie presentable with no cleanup.
