Wait, my main character is a Soldier, but I didn't even know we had nades? All I see is dynamite to take out vehicles. I do pretty well with the class now, particularly with the shotgun. You are absolutely correct about the accuracy of the guns though, I mean I can shoot down the planes with my SMG, even if they are flying 100 yards away!

The arpid fire shotty is devastating! I ran into it a few times yesterday and wow! I still see no real reason to buy anything though, we'll see if that changes as the beta progresses into live and hopefully you are right about logging in.

Soldiers have an ability "Grenade Spam" (killer if you can trap people in a corner and use it - at level 5 you toss out like 7 or 8 grenades!). Soldiers can also "buy" a grenade "weapon" - but that only tosses out one at a time, and you do NOT need to buy it in order to use the Grenade Spam ability.

thanks to KT now i got the game. the commandos are pretty weak at city maps but they are great in tank maps because u can turn invisible and throw those TNT thingy. still overall sniping are weak in this game as compare to the others, but I suppose a little bit of trapping will help it out.

I finally got a key and didn't really like it

Didn't care for the camera and don't much get the point of the vehicles at all, tanks are only good vs tanks, and when you get the opposing tank low the guy will just jump out and its basically impossible to kill footmen with a tank cause the direct damage is so low...

I'll try it again later, but so far I don't really find it too interesting

It is not a good or even a real game. Just a kiddie time and $$ waster. Bring on a real Bf already. I want to play comp again before I die ffs.

Finally found some time to try out this FREE game - game play is centered around hilarity and fun - but it's really nothing new that we haven't seen before. The game is still in Beta so the bugs and unbalances are expected.

for anyone interested Gamespot is giving out like 100,000 beta keys this week. You sign up and the next day should get one. I signed up last night and got one today. Graphics are decent, I don't think I like the 3rd person view much. I know it's still beta, but I don't see this ever being close to as good as TF2. Very fucking unballanced, I unloaded on a heavy gunner dude with my solider pretty much point blank. He ended up killing me and still had 90% of his health after taking 5 shotgun blasts from me.

this game is starting to show some major balancing faults.

- you can't switch side, if you level a national, you stuck with national team, want a royle guy? level him up.
- that doesn't seem much of a problem until you face some stacked team with like 5 kiddies on the same guild yelling over vent. it actually does have some strategy element involved and having that channel helped a lot.
- the above situation happens in every game you join, because people will come in, get raped and leave, or you will be on the winning side unchallenged. either way it gets bored quickly.

And I haven't gotten to the maturity level of the players. Think Gunbound level.

I guess you shouldn't expect much from something that's free.

maturity level of most players on public servers for any game are iffy as best. Was playing TF2 last night and 2 of the dudes kept spamming shitty J-Pop music over the voice chat. I suspect the game will be great on private servers once it lunches. Being free might attract more teens, but I've seen plenty on WOW which cost bucks to play. Asahats are everywhere online. Last group I played with seem mature and nice.

Flying is fucking hard. I did manage to shoot 2 planes out of the sky in 1 round. Movement is too slow, TF2 is like turbo (I like that) here it feels sluggish. Did I mention flying is hard? lol, I had 2 dudes on the wings and got sniped and the plane blew up.

For free I think I'll end up playing it, EA's like Steam right, where they let people set up their own servers? I dunno because I've only played the original BF once and don't know much about it.

voice spamming in TF2 usually happens in crappy servers like 4chan. there are a few on the east coast that i usually join without any sort of spams and have decent skill players (at least those who know what they are doing). try to look up the "NO HEROES" server and the Doorman is God servers.

question to anyone playing this under Windows 7, maybe Vista too. When it installs it asks if I want to install just for me, or all users. If I tell it all users it says I'm not an admin (I am) and proceeds to flop a crapload of DLL's on my desktop + some folders. I know it's a beta and I'm not really complaining but it kind of makes my desktop look fugly. When I saw them at first I thought something had unzipped wrong so I deleted them, opps lol. Wondering why it won't allow me to install for all users.

One of my 4 characters is up to level 8. The spys are WAY too tough, 1 knife will kill you from behind. I still suck at flying, besides that it's not bad, definitely better than I expected.

I installed for all users on Vista and did not have any issues like that.

I haven't played this game in a little bit. It is way too slow and the communication in it is horrible, so I find myself just going back to TF2. I'll try it again in a little while when I have more time, but I just do not find it all that fun.

finally got around to installing it and played for about 3 hours. Made it up to a mighty level 7.

Unfortunately, you're correct. Haven't played this game in weeks. It's ok for a free game, but it just does not have enough to hold me.

In general I liked it. I don't particularly like how things you buy with in game earned points disappear after some set time period or after use, and the things that you could pay actual money for are a joke and I'd never pay.

As far as inf-vehicle integration, this is by far the most balanced, balanced as in unless you can maintain your distance it's way to easy to take out vehicles as a foot soldier. Armor has no MG and direct shot with cannon seems to give more damage from the fall after you shoot them up into the air than the actual impact of the shot and the maps are so small that you get only a second or two of burst time in a play before you have to pull up or stall into the ground.

But as a lite entertaining skirmish match it was fun.
