cant boot into win2k, and I cant boot into linux any more :|

So that leaves me to try klinux out until I can get it fixed. hope it works

Adul - I haven't had chance to follow your threads that closely but I do recall you saying your 2K had originally been hosed and you would try the linux.

Did you by any chance, try to reinstall 2K back on that same machine? If you did, then that probably hosed your LILO, with 2k scribbling all over the mbr (assuming you use LILO as your boot manager).

You could try creating a linux rescue disk to at least boot and try to mount the / of your linux partition, then you can re-run LILO.

Again, not sure if I'm on the right track about what is happening with your poor machine but if I am, maybe this will help?

I was dual booting linux and win2k. Then win2k died on me :|

So I was stuck with linux only. Normally not a problem, but I wanted to play some UT and tribes. 🙁

So I tried fixing my win2k last night. Off course I messed up somewhere and manage to hose up lilo to. And to top it off I can't find my linux boot disk either. 🙁 So I got upset and went to bed. I tried klinux, cool little progy, but I don't have a dhcp server setup, just my cable modem. Just has well, I will try tonight to see if i can undo what has been done.

Do you know what kernel version you used. (if you don't know, then chances are it's the same as the one used by default on MD 7.2) Also, do you know where you root partition is? /dev/hda1? /dev/hd?? Any of those making sense.

If not sure, post what hard drives and cdrom drives you have (in order they detect in the bios) and where you put your linux distro (after w2k, before,....)
