Quick question for you guys, since I KNOW there are people here:

How do you backup everything in Outlook? I'd really rather not lose the e-mails that I have.

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{DA2360C0-8FF8-11D4-9D79-9724C4B29923}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

(The registry numbers might be different on your computer)

save all your .dbx

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities

Click on that folder, click on microsoft folder, then click on Outlook express

What version of outlook? You can "export" to a file and choose .PST :)

Thanks...

Freakin' GeForce2 drivers took a crap, I'm currently viewing the forums at 640x480x16 colors. :|

Computer's been running for like three weeks, 24/7, without so much as a hiccup. Then I come home tonight & it's frozen solid, won't even make it into Windows. Severe graphics corruption, can't ever make it past the network login with the GF2 drivers installed.

This is NOT what I wanted to do tonight.

Couldn't you just boot into safe mode, change drivers back to default, then reinstall the GF2 drivers?

I did that. With the GF2 drivers installed, it won't make it into Windows. Unfortunately, formatting didn't solve it. It still hangs.

I dunno WTF the problem is, & I don't have ANY hardware to test it with. No extra systems, video cards, motherboards, nothing.

NVIDIA 6.47's, the same ones I've been running ever since they came out.

The only thing I've changed since it was running perfectly is I popped off the stock heatsink & put on a Blue Orb. It's been running fine for almost a week with that on there, although it makes a nasty vibration.

Safe mode works fine, as does normal mode @ 640x480x16 colors. Anything with the drivers installed refuses to load Windows.

Remember that Windows is a virus with mouse support. OS Rot really happens, and sooner or later, a complete re-install is inevitable. One of my favorite tricks is to partition my drive with a 1 - 2 GB C: drive. You can partition the rest of the drive, or leave it as one large D: drive, and put everything (and I mean EVERYTHING!!! other than Windows, itself, on the later drives.

Then, when the time comes, as it surely will, just format C:, and re-install Windows. You will have to re-install all your other programs, but all your setups and data files will be in place and ready to roll. :)

Try some different drivers perhaps? Try the ones that came with the card, and then perhaps update to the 6.31's and see what happens?

Harvey...

I'm perfectly comfortable re-installing Windows, I do it every <6 months anyway. I'm pretty sure something else is wrong... Probably my motherboard, since the damn thing's been killing RAM as well.

Snow Patrol...

I've never had a bit of trouble with the 6.47's, I doubt they're the problem. When I get home tonight I'll try the new 6.49's, but I don't think it's going to make a difference.

I'm guessing either the card or the drivers are fvcked up, and I'm guessing I don't need to tell you this. Did ya try d/l'ing another copy/version of the drivers? Also, prior to this were you overclocking the card? I guess this is mostly just my curiousity but maybe my questions will jog your memory

Of course I was overclocking the card. ;)

220 core, 400 memory. Been running that ever since the day I got it, & have never had a problem.

I know for sure my motherboard is having issues, it killed two sticks of Mosel REV2. I'll replace that first, & then see what happens. If that doesn't solve it, I'll either buy another GF2 from Untamo, or I'll go get something really cheap to last me until NV20 hits.

Funny how everybody seems to be reinstalling Windows around the same time:). I just did two days ago. I forgot to back up my mail, doh. But man, things are significantly faster after a complete wipe/format/reinstall. Crazy stuff.

You really do have to love WinDoze.

I just reinstalled everything not too long ago as well.

I've been planning to reinstall Winblows for about a month because it's been acting up on me but it's an hour or 2 I'd rather spend playing CS.
