Well, classes start the 22nd of August

I'm going to the University of Nebraska at Omaha this fall. Feel free to laugh, whatever it is you guys do. At any rate, I calculated about what my weekly spending should be and it came out to be like 50 bucks a week. I'm sure I can make it work... I pretty much took about what I'll have in my bank account divided by how many weeks between August 22nd and May 5th. It came out to be like 80 or something but I lowered it a lot because I want to give myself leeway for emergancies and such.

we'll see how well i can stick to THAT plan.....

i'm staying at clarkson college, actually. its about two omaha blocks from UNO. so i'll ride my bike/walk all i can. the clarkson college dorms are absolutely amazing

I spent $50 regularly on dinner.... although I did have a great paying part-time job and paid off all my tuition by then.

You definitely should get a job... there's so much free time

I had a job 3 weeks into college and have held it down ever since. You'll soon realize $50/week doesn't go far. good luck!!

$50 a week is gonna be rough if you like drinking. you can spend that within a few hours of drinking.

try to get a job during the breaks and save the money for use during the year.

also, textbooks cost alot, so plan that in your budget.

Hubby and I both went to UNO. I would never laugh, I think it's a really good school and we had fun going there.

Edited to add: I think you can live on that amount if you're on a dorm/food plan like Jzero said. There's cheap places to eat around as well. We used to hit Senor Matias after 9 pm for $.99 tacos/margaritas (but I think they've raised the prices since then).

Anyhow, just have fun. It's COLLEGE.

$50 /week? HAHAHAHHAHHA you cant even afford raman noodles with that...you need to get more loans buddy...i think loans are awesome...my bro took out farily large loans when he was in college. didnt have to work a single day (aside from summers) so he could spend all of his time screwing off and studing. He now has a job with the airforce and will have his loans paid of in 10yrs at 1xx/mo....friggin awesome seeming as how he makes a LOT more than tha /mo ....

live like a king in college...pay it off later when you have a real job...
