What was the music saying. Something about truth marching on? Why were they not playing a requiem instead. If you want to have a solemn moment for people who feel the intent of music played around them, play music that contains the emotional content the occasion appropriately expresses. Bush was the only real one there.

Not as entertaining as his tribal dancing in Africa that one time, but at least it's embarrassing, bizarre and completely inappropriate for everyone watching. 2/10

I don't think I've ever had this much sympathy for Laura Bush. I bet Michelle couldn't wait to wash her hand.

This won't phase bush voters though, they've been blocking out stuff like this since before 2000. Why start now? He's not a coke fried moron, completely lost in a sea of adults... he's just ..uh... got that holy spirit!:hmm:

Meh. Bush is just overjoyed that someone actually wants him somewhere.

It's always amusing to me when people who enthusiastically support Obama, who admits his own use of all the hard drugs, attacks Bush for that same thing based on a convicted drug dealer's accusation. It's like when Democrats spent a whole election derisively calling W "Junior" when his Democrat opponent was Al Gore, Jr.

He's being criticized for being high in public especially at this kind of event. The Obama family certainly raised the bar for family behavior over the Bushes. Remember all the havoc those Bush twins caused?

I don't even want to watch it. Too often I feel embarrassed for the guy. Something just isn't right with him.

IMO, he's a regular down to earth fella living in the stratosphere of high society and power politics where, in regards to his disposition, he obviously just don't belong.

But then I also think he's the kind of guy that I could have endless hours and hours of story telling with and enjoy every minute of it.

Through no fault of his own the dude found himself occupying the most powerful office on Earth. And he completely fucked it up in nearly every conceivable way. No one can blame him for getting hammered all day or wandering upstairs in his underwear to smear paint on a canvas in a drug induced haze.

It must be a relief and incredibly freeing to know that nothing he does now can be worse than what's been done before. Absolutely no fucks given.

I don't blame you.

Word is he is really upset about his dad's health, which is declining rapidly. As much as I loathe the moron, I empathize with him there. My own father passed away before we could work a couple things out, and it's something I still carry with me years later. I honestly wouldn't wish it on anyone, even a poster child for nepotistic incompetence/ignorance like W.

I liked and respected his dad. He was a regular at Cheeca in the Keys, always jogging on the old highway or enjoying the fishing. My parents got to speak with him a few times but I never did.

I will mourn GHWB when he passes. When his son drinks himself into oblivion I'll probably make a sandwich.
