I have been running seti@home for 38 hours on one machine and 15 or so on another.

My stats don't show. :(

Crazee, you've got a new Seti Cruncher that needs some help! :p :)

In the meantime,

Relayer, you are obviously running the GUI CLIENT which is suuupppeeerr sssllllooooowwww! :Q

Look at the link in my sig titled "Join TeAm AnandTech SETI".

You'll find a step by step instruction on how to install the much, much faster CLI CLIENT. :)

Finish the current WU since you've worked on it so long (hey, it might just be the WU that finds ET ;) ) and then completely uninstall the GUI CLIENT.

Then follow the instructions. ;) :)

If you really don't want to give up the pretty graphics;) ,then you can speed it up considerabley by minimising the window for 'always run' mode ,or if in screen saver mode enable 'blank screen' in the screensaver settings in Display properties ,this alone will halve your WU times:) ,though the CLi will still be about 25% faster

Ok thanks. I started with the GUI client to stress test a machine for a couple days. It seems to stay running at least. A toasty 120* CPU. So I decided to join the TeAm! Now I can donate some CPU time while I am browsing. :)

Can I run the GUI and the CLI simultaneously on the same machine?

You may be able to leave it on the same machine but I'm pretty sure you can't run them both at the same time.

I guess you could EXIT the SetiDriver CLI Client and then startup the GUI CLIENT if you wanted to see the pretty graphics. But you'd have to definitely shutdown the GUI before starting up the CLI CLIENT ... sort of a messy thing to do.

Maybe someone you has tried to do this will speak up? ;)

Yeah you can do it ,but it'll double your WU time! ,so there's not much point unless you want to transition from 1 to another & you're not around to do it.
If that's the case then make sure you turn off auto transmit on the GUI client

Just checked my stats.. I started with 77 Wus when I joing Team Anandtech (and started running the CLI version with the faster computer), and now I have 80 complete and 1 more almost complete.... looks like I'll be able to do one every 4+ hours..... not too bad. :)

I'm wondering though, when I go to my stats page (Stats for BobTheWizard), why am I listed as inactive? Maybe because of the "Daily Work Units" will be updated later? Just a little confused about this.

Anyway... units are certainly going faster....
and I'm sure someone here will be able to answer my question. You all haven't failed me yet. ;)
