Hi everyone, I'm having a little trouble getting this thing set up right. I have the CLI and seti driver and I should be registered already. When I go to enter my email address it gives this error: "gethostbyname: No such file or directory" Server host unknown.

Are you using one of the Team Proxy servers?

If you are, have you tried without one? This *could* be the problem.

Another thing to check is that you chose option 2 "Existing member" as you have already signed up and are on Team Anandtech (it's been so long since i've set it up and am getting slightly forgetful ;))

Welcome to the Seti Team, by the way :) I hope you stick around and pop in often :)

Yeah I have it set up to use orangekid.teamanandtech.com port 5001. I think it is just down right now. Are there others? Should I try without a proxy server? How would I get the WU's to count towards TA?

Sean there are many other team proxies as posted in this linky

You could try another one or you could go straight to Berkeley and then change to a TeAm proxy later.

You don't have to go through one of the public proxies, you can go direct to Berkeley (Seti themselves), they will all count. Providing it's set up with your Seti account, it will all count towards your own total and TA's total :)

There are many others, and this page will tell you which ones are up or down, updated every hour :)

I would first try going directly to Berkeley, not using a Proxy server, to get the first Work Unit downloaded, then once you have it downloaded, switch to using any one of those on the list :)

Welcome to our new members, and especially to Craig! I assimilated Craig :) He had been running the screensaver version which was taking him about 20 hours to do a WU (I know at 50% complete it was already 10 hours). Now that I put him on CLI, he's doing WU's around 4:50! This is awesome and everything, but am I just crazy or is that a bit fast for a Duron 1.2GHz with 256MB SDRAM? For a similar sized AR WU, my Athlon-C 1400 @ 1570 w/ 512 PC133 SDRAM takes about 5:05. So is he fast or am I slow? This is really bugging me :Q

Thanks for the welcome. I thought that since I have joined the D2OL team I might as well donate my WU`s to the SETI team.
I don`t run it too often though, only when I get fed up with D2OL.

Cheers,
Andy
