Welcome to Team AnandTech SETI! 😀

We are now 2,013 members strong. 🙂

I would like to introduce our newest member:

Actaeon ---- Rank 2006 New ---- 1 🙂

Your personal mentor is ? EvilWobbles ? who will be contacting you shortly. 🙂

I see you started your own "Hello Thread" which is just great but I promised you a welcome thread anyway, so here it is. 😉 🙂

We hope you drop by often and say hello. 🙂

We like to recommend that all of our new members go to the following link and use the Preferred Method 2 Installation: SETI Help and Installation

Already said hello, but hello. Again!

What he said! 😀

Welcome to the Team and remember to just ask if you have a problem with anything, Seti, computers, the meaning of life, anything 😀

Thank you! I do feel greeted and welcome here.

I plan to stop by here often, posting, and perhaps, getting to know everyone here.

I just want to help Team Anandtech with a few work units here and there, I know this is for a good cause, and I'm sure you won't mind having any extra help. 😀

Ah, I see you saw my thread earlier, I just wanted to make sure I got everything right 🙂

My own personal mentor? Sweeeeet. I can't wait to meet him/her.

I did do the perferred method 2 of installation, and my cpu is crunching away 🙂

I do have a question though, I see people easily putting out 100+ workunits a day. My computer only does around 3.5, can I some how make my computer process these work units faster? Or do those people have 30+ computers chugging at SETI?

Like I said, thank you for the warm greeting, and I'm happy to help Team Anandtech anyway I can!

Yep, you got it about there! We have some people that have MANY computers running under their account! That's how they have so many! 🙂

One way they do this is getting computers at their work places, and/or getting friends to run it for them, and some people (Evadman, Networkman) have most if not all their WUs coming from their own home systems!

And for a "Hunk o' Junk" it's pretty good getting 3.5 WUs/day 😀

Welcome! 😀

Just to add to what Confused said about workplace machines...make sure you have PERMISSION! (in writing preferably) we'd hate to have a team member get in trouble/lose a job over a DC project 😉 Getting permission is key when you don't own the computer. 🙂

Welcome to the team🙂 Some of the folks have large work fleets which they have permission to run seti on. others like myself have gotten hooked on seti and spend their money on making more crunchers instead of buying more games and other things like food 😉
