Hi, everyone! Just glad I to be part of the "TeAm" :) I would've joined sooner, but I wanted to run seti overnight to make sure my computer wouldn't spaz out from running it. Everything's a-ok and I'm on my 7th WU now. (Gotta start somewhere )

tmp, You are averaging some very good times there with your super nice rig. ;) :)

You are going to be surprised how quickly you rise up the rankings. :D

Thanks, I'm very new to this and I initially had some problems with the GUI version of SETI. It was taking way too long to crunch my first WU. I did a little research and it turned out to be the srceensaver issue. I've since uninstalled the GUI version and downloaded the CLI version. I have that running with SETI Spy with the screensaver off now.

I have a question though. I have a cable internet connection so it's always on. I'm crunching one WU at a time and then downloading the next. One after another. Is there any advantage and/or reason for me to use SETI Driver to cache WU's in my case?

Thanks, tmp

Welcome to the TeAm, all! :)

tmp: The reason for caching WUs in your case would be in case a server at Berkeley were to go down, and you were unable to send in or get new WUs, or your Internet connection goes down for 3 days, or something like that. It's a just in case, basically, but it's usually a good idea to have a couple days' worth on hand, in case something does go wrong.
