Welcome back everyone! As we all get situated I'd like to point out a few issues that are occurring as a result of our move to vBulletin:

1. Our stickies got removed. So far I've only been able to find one of the original stickies. The search tool seems to be down, so we're going to have to wait until it's up before I can find the other stickies.

2. I *think* members can now post pictures, although being able to see pictures is turned off by default in your profiles (you can turn it on if you wish). This goes without saying, but don't go crazy on the picture posting:

a. No sexually explicit photos and no artistic nudes for the moment until this matter is decided by the mods.

b. No graphic photos.

c. Make sure your photos aren't huge and take up the whole page.

I think that about covers it for now. Thanks!

How about you give us a size limit in bytes?
1 meg? 10 megs? How big?

I think the size limit should be resolution, not actual byte size. I've seen people post huge resolution images on vBulletin boards and it just screws up the flow of the page.

I think 1024px width should be comfortable, no? For anything higher just make the image into a link that links to the full size image.

Yay, happy to be back! I think I'll commemorate the new forum by putting out a new update to my Camcorder guide this month! :D

Just an update: it does NOT look good for artistic nudes being allowed.

Post pictures that are 640x480 that is linked to the larger version?
That actually seems to be the preferred method. Its like browsing on your computer with thumbnails linking to the full image. And it keeps the load off Anands servers.

Good to be back as new. Is there any "restriction" regarding the pictures type? I mean are all accepted? JPEG, GIF...
