Weirest beer you've tried?

Anyone ever heard of or tried jalapeno beer? My roommate got into home brewing last fall when we bought him a kit for his birthday. His latest venture is beer that is brewed with some jalapenos. It just got done carbonating in the keg tonight... Interesting stuff. It's a "sorta dark" beer, kinda hoppy, but with a twirl of jalapeno as it goes down. I didn't like it too much, never have liked the taste of Jalapenos. Sends your stomach on a roller coaster ride too... weee... Definitely the weirdest beer I've tried..

Can anyone top that (21 and older!!)??

There's a beer called "Chili Beer" - it has a Jalapeno inside the bottle. I'm pretty sure it's made in Arizona, my friend picked some up one night and it was the worst tasting slop I've ever had.

my brother went to this brewery and they *made* you try every beer before they'd sell you any. His favorite was a blueberry beer. wierd.

tried the chili beer and kinda funny tasting. we were in tahoe a few months back and picked up some hemp beer. I think it's called "Hemp Beer" but not sure. Goto to the local 7/11 in N. Tahoe near kings beach and score some Hemp Beer

the weirdest was dixie's blackened voodoo... tastes like chocolate... or maybe vanilla porter... actually i dug the vanilla porter. yes, it has vanilla in it.

Vanilla Porter is awesome! There's a brewpub in Nashville that makes that, and it's fantastic.

Weirdest beer? Mine is Gueze, from Belgium. It comes in a largish green bottle with a champagne cork. The weird thing about it is that they leave the wort (I think that's the term) in OPEN casks with a breeze blowing over them. The breeze brings in natural yeast from the fields which ferments the mixture into beer when it's placed in the bottles (hence the champagne cork, it develops pressure when fermenting). It's called bottle conditioned ale. The taste is something like a meadow -- tastes like wild flowers and such. VERY interesting. I quite liked it, though it was much, much different than anything else I've ever had.

Hard to find, unfortunately.

I second that vanilla porter it is yummy.

The weirdest tasting beer for me was that tequiza(sp)...suppose to be made with tequilla and lime....that stuff is nasty!!!:disgust:

I went to a &quot;Brewstation&quot; restaurant up in the Twin Cities last winter and had their beer sampler platter.

One of the beers was called the &quot;Coal Miner&quot;. It was odd. Very odd. It had the consistency of clean 10w30 motor oil, the pitch black color of coal, and had a very odd menthol flavor to it.

It warmed your tummy and cleared your sinuses at the same time
