Weirdest dreams you've ever had? Ever had a TRULY lucid dream?

Post about yours! No druggies plz 😉

This thread about a specific dream prompted this 🙂

Once when I hadn't slept in 36 hours and I had only 30 minutes to rest in my car with no alarm. I had to keep checking my watch every few minutes to see if 30 minutes were up. I drifted in and out of sleep several times in only a few minutes. In between, I would plan how long I would take doing each aspect of my job, and what I would do first after my 30mins were up. I had a dream each time about checking my watch, seeing that it was time to go and going in to work and starting these things. That's before I wake up for real and thankfully discover that I have several more minutes. After that, I seemed to wake up within another dream every time I would realize that it was a dream! Each time I thought I was awake for good and went back into work. I was fully aware and in control of my thoughts, and my "waking" location/position was always correct, unlike a normal dream. Soon, I realized that I was dreaming this because I was mearly thinking about doing these things. Whoo boy. Had a good dream after that. 😀

And no, I've NEVER done drugs! This has only happened once!

You lucky bum. I've never known that I was dreaming, ever.

I think I may have known..once or twice... Actually, yeah, I have. Those were scary dreams though.

I once had a dream where I was being chased by a dark silhouette with glowing red eyes. My parents had found me the next morning frantically trying to tunnel my way out of the hallway.

The only lucid dream I can recall off the top of my head was waking up in bed with my gf nestled against me. She smelled like strawberry shampoo and was wet I remember drifting off again thinking about her and pondering vaguely why her hair would be wet. I concluded she must've taken a shower and curled up beside me for a nap. I even made a mental note to to thank her for being there by making breakfast I woke up a little later to find myself zonked out on a desk in the university library...my head in my book. Man was I pissed when I woke up.

Ladies, you'll be happy to know that I picked myself up, went to her place and made her waffles anyways. Left her a note that said "Thanks for being the girl of my dreams ;-)"<- yes, I use smileys when I write too. Then, I left to enjoy the weekend with my buddies.

She was mighty confused that day.

I was into lucid dreaming for a while, this thread actually rekindled my interest 🙂 I actually have a NovaDreamer (google it)

I've had a few. Wierd thing about it is it looks just like when you're awake, but you know you're not. Most of the time when i'm "awake" in my dreams i'm in awe of how real it looks. Once i was walking through an old house, like a victorian. And i passed a bathroom with writing on the wall just above the tub. It was the brand name or something with model number etc. I kept reading the name and numbers and tried to remember what they were so that when i woke up i could see if they actually meant something, but oddly the part of my mind that remembers numbers and letters was asleep so I wasn't able to remember them.

I realized this when I was trying to remember them and instead just kept looking at it to see if i could remember it in a whole instead of the actual numbers.

When i looked back on it after i was awake it was no more clear than any other memory. And I couldn't remember the name or the numbers. 🙁

In another lucid dream, i realized i was in a dream and the thought occured to me to take control of the dream, but the part of my mind that does creative thinking was asleep, it didn't want to wake up, just wanted to keep that mindless flow that most dreams have.

I've had gained control of a few since, each time i seem to get better at it. Something to look forward to i guess, but i still can't get over how real it looks when I'm in an actual lucid dream moment. there is no morphing that is in most dreams where things turn into other things and logic doesn't seem to hold the same, when i'm actually lucid things are concrete like in reality.

i have had *one* lucid dream in my entire life, but i made it count. oh yes i did... girl's lockerroom. ooooh....

Yeah, and just lemme say that damn I was GLAD it ended up being a dream... phew 😀

I've caught myself dreaming on a number of occasions. It's funny. I'm going along doing something relatively normal in the dream, and then some weird dream-esque stuff happens (I walk through a wall or something) and I just stop and think: WTF??? I can't do that sh!t, I'm dreaming. Only problem is I wake up right at that moment so I don't get to do anything cool.

I had a dream where I was dreaming in my dream and somebody was chasing after me trying to kill me.
It's funny how I remembered the second dream being more real to me in real life than in my dream.

So it was like, the matrix inside the matrix?

😀

The only time I ever seem to realize I'm dreaming is when I'm reading something in a dream... and then go to re-read it for whatever reason. It NEVER matches. (say I'm dreaming that I'm in a restaurant, I might read the menu once and it would say incoherent thing A, and then a minute later I'll re-read it and it will say something equally incoherent, but different).

So then I always have this moment when I'm like "that's odd, I just read that and then I read it again and it was different.. oh wait...I must be dreaming" ... sadly, as soon as that happens, my brain starts racing trying to figure out how exactly to take control of the dream... which always leads me to waking up almost right away. Sometimes I get a minute or two, but rarely.

I do know I at least sometimes dream in color, and I know I've even dreamed in stereo, but ?? just can't seem to read in my sleep. hah.

I used to have night terrors...I'd physically react to my dreams. The best ones happened at college, when I came back from a weekend at home. I jumped out of the top bunk because I dreamt there were rats in my bed once.

The worst was when we were picking the corn this fall...that's all I could see in my sleep. I really hate corn...

The best dream I ever had was after I woke up from 2 hours of sleep. I had a test, and was up all night studying. I woke up, and went to take a shower. I was dreaming/hallucinating while I was taking a shower, that I was king of the Eagle people, and we had to fight the unicorns...and dance with them. I'm not too sure on that point, just that I I took a shower while dreaming/hallucinating.

Hehe. This happened to me, once. Everything was going perfect in the dream. Then I realized that it couldn't be real, because nothing has ever been that perfect...so I immediately woke up.

I dreamed one night that i came home from school and my father had commited suicide in the backyard. He rigged up a riding lawnmower to a hose and had the other end of the hose in his mouth. it was really f'ed up. I woke up and actually went to see if he was in his room sleeping cause it felt so real. Very disturbing.

i dreamed once that i was on a tropical island filled with blond bimbos... i escaped from my cell with the help of my beautiful female counterpart, and we found some blond bimbos engaged in sexual relations, and we joined them..

i really did have this dream.

it was wierd 😕

I have something like early-onset dreaming (don't remember the scientific term). Just about every night, I start dreaming before I fall asleep. So I'll be looking around my room, with my eyes open (or thinking my eyes are open), and see people/things. Sometimes cool things (beautiful women 😀), sometimes not (giant rats), but I always know that it is a dream. But, even knowing it is a dream, I can't easily make any of the images "go away"... it takes a lot of concentration.

oh.. once i had a dream that was so unrealistic i just said wait, that aint right... and woke up. i'm not sure if it's the blond bimbo isle one i'm thinking of or not, though.

i had a recurring one where i was some sort of refugee from body-snatching space aliens. that was a good one.

last night i had one about making out with a chick i know. which is odd because i don't dream of specific people very often.

I rarely if ever have dreams probably like 3-4 a year =( , it really sucks dreams are always an interesting adventure and I always look forward to the next one. Oh well I'm off to bed and hope that I can dream ehhe.

About once a month, just as I start to fall asleap, I start doing stuff in my dreams. But my brain did not sever the links with my body yet, so my body moves. I have kicked holes in the wall and fallen out of bed a few times because I would be running or jumping in a car or something in my dreams. It is really freaky, and scares the crap out of me.
