ok so my bro has a neo2 platinum board with a 3000 processor (no overclocking), pc3200 512 stick of mushkin, and a 9800 pro. for some reason, his board started acting up. when the psu is on and he hits the power button, the computer will not boot. so i do the works, reset cmos, reseat graphics card, reseat ram, etc and nothing works!! then, when the psu was on, i actually put in the ram and what do you know? The fvcker turns on!! that's right. that's the only way it seems to turn on, when i put in the ram while the psu is on. is this not weird?

cliff notes:
1. mysteriously the mobo will not boot.
2. tried everything to get it working.
3. put in ram while psu is on and it immediately starts running.

huge nono man. the current going thru your mobo while the psu is on will fry your ram, if it already hasn't. have you tried putting the ram in a differet slot? i would just rma that thing and be done with it. that is a manufacturer's defect if any.

Define "on". Do you mean the psu fan is spinning, or just plugged in? Inserting ram with the mb powered up is NEVER a good idea by-the-way.

its plugged in and in the on position (negative). yeah i know. :(

i have a really cool friend who has an extra k8n neo2 platinum. so i'm sure he'll let us borrow that one while we are rma'ing ours.

i was just hoping there would be some mobo option or something, but it seems to me that there's like something wrong with the ram banks.
