This problem occurs in 2 games: oblivion and Civ4

When playing, the game would periodically crash out to the desktop with no warning
messages. I checked the GPU temps with ATi tool and it seems fine (50 degrees)
This problem occurs more often when playing Civ4. Can anyone offer any help?
 
I know that this happens in oblivion all the time, due to a memory leakage problem. Something that can only be remedied by Bethesda. I have done extensive research on the issue. I have 2 computers that have the exact same problems running with ati hardware and my buddy does aswell running on his 7900 GTO. I thought my problem was solved when I put another gig stick in my rig until I played for 4 hours one time then crashed out. Adding a gig only lenghtend the time i could play between crashing. All my components are running at stock clocks and I have a pretty extreme cooling setup.
 
i have that problem with dark messiah and any steam game. a simple reboot does the job for me but im lazy. just started recently too. i updated to new CCC drivers but no help.
