Weird X1900XT issue ?

So I managed to fix the issue, but I am looking for a root cause.

Turn on puter this morning....all pictures are really dark and splotchy.

Update drivers since it's been a while.

Same thing.

Mess with catalyst control center and everything went back to normal when I hit "Reactivate ATI color contols".

Any ideas why it got all f'd up?

So it seems to be happening every time I restart now.
