Weird Windows XP problem with the Start button and the quicklaunch

It seems whenever I boot up my computer, the bottom of the screen (start and the quicklaunch) don't seem to work for about 30 seconds. And after 30 seconds, the start menu and the programs I clicked on the quick launch pop up. Anyone know how to fix this?

Dude, I second that question! I've been wondering as well. I mean, if it's thinkin', at least inform me with a hourglass or something. I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only one XPeriencing that...😀

I'm aware of that. It's just that if it's still booting up, at least inform us, or incorporate it into the boot process. Or, seriously, show an hourglass. When it looks done, it's as if nothing's running. Then, I try to click the start menu, and i get nothing. Then, 20 seconds...HD LED...30 seconds...done.

Oh well.
