Weird Windows XP issue

MX2

Lifer
When I turn on this particular machine (Dell Optiplex), it loads to the point of having the default XP wallpaper screen. No controls or buttons,
nothing to click on just the picture.

EDIT:By the way, I know its the explorer shell not loading, I just dont know why.

😕

Excessive malware or a corrupt OS is one possibility. Try safe mode and run HiJack this to see what's loading.

Well, when I hit Control/Alt/Delete I get a pop-up thats says..."Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator"..therefore I am assuming it is in fact corrupted with malware, spyware, etc. This machine belongs to a friend and her son frequents the P2P sites, guess that explains it. Havent tried Safe Mode boot yet, but will when I get a chance.

Thanks so far guys🙂

Typically what this means is the PC is provoking a possible 10 minute match wtih one fall and a 10 minute time limit.

Here's how I usually solve these..........

A quick arm/neck lockup will put you in position to reach for the cd tray and pull it behind him. Then what you want to do is hold this position while you prepare a setup for a sweeping back-breaker. After you're both brought to the canvas, you can set up for a quick rebound frog splash.......or if you think you have time......you can go for the 5-star. I tend to find that the unit is not worn enough yet and is still in a position to attack from the canvas. So what I do next is I'll typically rebound off the adjacent ropes and subdue the unit further with an elbow smash to the floppy. This will typically render some pain to the unit and he'll be required to recover some 5 to 10 seconds. At this point you can be confident that you're able to make a climb for one of the ring posts and commence the setup for a 5-star frog splash.

Now........I would *highly* recommend that you pay close attention to him as he's still stunned by the elbow smash. Occasinally......and I haven't experienced this personally, however Flair has commented to me several times that.....an opponent *can* attack if moving hastily enough to ensue a possible high-elevation body-slam off of the said ring post in a surprise maneuver. To avoid this I tend to follow an inner-mount to the ring post. Sure, it's not reminiscent of the "Snooka" days, however, time is of the essence here. Remember, explorer is not going to load and you're not going to see any icons so long as he remains able to attack. So with that in mind, set up for your 5-star frog splash and execute without flamboyance. You can celebrate later during your reinstall. For now, you need to execute the splash.

Deliver the splash and, while you may experience some pain yourself, you can quickly recover from the 'bounce' (if you will) by hooking the dvd-rom tray and pinning him for a 3-count, ending the match quickly!! Do NOT.....and I repeat DO NOT, begin to parade around the ring as if you've suddenly imposed your will on the system startup files. I've seen it too many times.......you'll end up losing the match in a surprise reverse-calf take-down. Don't go there! Execute quickly and hook the tray for the 3-count! Sure it's not for a belt or anything, but I wanted to be sure you won the bout. You can do it.................BROTHER! 😛😎:roll:
