Weird Windows 2000 problem...

Hey all,
When i try to go into the hardware device listing, it gives me an error "mmc.exe has generated errors blah blah blah"

When i try to use disk defrag. It also gives me that error. What's up?

Try going in my computer/cor whatever drive)/properties/tolls/ and do an error checking.

You may have something corrupted on your drive.

You can try going to the start button, Programs, Accessories, dosprompt. At the dosprompt type Chkdsk/f it should say it can't but do you want to run this at the next boot up? Answers yes close windows and reboot the system windows will run chkdsk/f and fix any problem that can be fixed on the hard drive. If that does not work try just shutting off the computer with the power switch don't shut down windows, that should cause windows to check the disk the next time you boot up...
