Question Weird Win 11 media player issues

Hello all,

Just had a new system built. I regularly buy cd's and rip to a USB stick in .FLAC. When using windows 11 media player When I listen to the tracks I ripped I almost get like a "static" noise in the ripped songs/albums. But when I rip the same cd on my Win 10 machine with the same USB stick flawless reproduction.

Current build specs:

Asus ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming Wifi mainboard
AMD 9950x processor
Nvidia RTX 5090
Soundblaster AE-5 Plus soundcard
64 Gigs ddr5 ram
LG DVD writer

Side note:

When trying to use a Ugreen 1 monitor two computer KVM switch, everything works on my new system but my Win10 machine will not recognize my keyboard.

Asus Rampage V extreme motherboard X99 chipset

Any help would be great.

Best regards.

Quick update. Got a external dvd drive and works quite well. It is a brand new PC could it be faulty hardware?
That points to the internal optical drive, brand-new hardware can still be flaky esp. optical drives, which are cheap and have mediocre QC these days.
But before declaring it bad:
  • Try ripping the same disc on the LG but with EAC or Foobar2000 instead of Media Player. If those rips are clean, it's software. If static persists, it's the drive.
  • Swap SATA port/cable for the LG just to rule out a bad channel.
  • Make sure chipset + storage drivers are current (AMD's X870E drivers).
