Weird WHS problem

Ok I have the HP MediaSmart Server so I cannot see what is going on in the bios.
My computer will start to boot up and all lights will be on and everything will be working normally.
Then 1 drive light goes out, my health light goes to red and the server finishes booting up.
WHS console shows the drive as missing, but all my shares are available and work just fine.
I RDC into the machine and all my drives are working inside "my Computer"
The drive that is "failing" is also my OS drive 2TB. 20 Gig for OS the rest for DE.
Then after a couple hours it just freezes completely.

any ideas?

First thing I'd test the drive if possible in another machine or an external enclosure with the manufacturers diagnostic program

I don't see your exact situation, but have you looked over HP's troubleshooting instructions? Supposedly there's a light bar just for the system hard drive that would indicate a failure of that disk. Here's some of the sequences and causes:

Here's the HP manual if you haven't had a chance to read it:

There's always the Windows System Event logs, too, which would likely be showing some Disk errors. WHS runs Chkdsk on its drives at least daily.
