weird, weird, problem with TCP/IP in ME help

my wife computer got the upgrade. Soltek mobo + 1400 Duron, I installed the Linksys NIC and because I can't do it with the Netgear, the OS shows the NICs working great but ONLY the Linksys is showing in IP configuration from run. After the upgrade we were working in the internet great but after a couple ckecks the TCP/IP can't connect to the internet throught a router and cable modem Linksys. Anyway, the machine configuration is fine and is normal but I cant reach my router with a ping, if I ping 127.0.0.1 is fine..... Help...
