Guys, I just had this wierd problem I don't even know where is that come from

I am using W2K SP1, loged on as administrator, but all the icons on my desktop are useless. When I double click them, no respond. Then I right click on the desktop try to bring the property menu, it says: access to device denied! I tried to go "start" - "program" - "Explorer" it says "program can't start!"

Doh!!!

The only way I can start any thing is to Ctrl+Alt_Del and bring up the task manager, select new task, and put in full path of the program.

This SUCKS!!!

Anyone can help me please????

Thanks!

Have you changed the local group policy at all using the MMC? If not, check your administrative permissions on the drive (if NTFS). I had this happen but I rebooted and it went away. 😕

Edit: check administrative rights on the drive if NTFS. Right click on a hard drive and choose the security tab. Choose advanced and have adminstrators be the "owner" of the drive.

Under Users and Passwords then Advanced Tab there is a check box for CNRTL-ALT-DEL to log on. Uncheck that box.
