Weird VNC Problem in FC5

I'm having this weird problem that I can't seem to solve. Whenever I drag an icon on the desktop or in the file browser, the GNOME desktop seems to relad itself (akin to explorer.exe crashing and restarting). Any other apps that I have open at the time does not close. Has anyone else seen a problem like this before? Note that locally, this problem does not happen.

Client comp: Windows XP, VNC Free 4.1.2
