im trying to reinstall windows, i have a legit oem copy, put in the dvd to start up, installation initializes as usual
i have velociraptor as c drive
2 other wd640 as storage
from my past experience, i knew that i have to disconnet the 2 wd640 so the boot manager wont be screwed up, so i just left velciraptor connected and installed a fresh copy of vista x64
after inputing product key, it showed velociraptor is unallocated entirely, so i just made a new partition and format it then clicked next and let the installation start
then after vista done copying files, expanding files, installing features, installing updates, completing installation, while no error msgs, it said auto reboot
after computer restarted itself, bios screen showed up as usual, then it said "boot from "cd/dvd" again and vista again asked for languages and stuff like i had to install it again. i check command prompt and saw no c: there, tried install again and yet c drive is unallocated again, it was like i had never done anything
i then put the velociraptor to my other computer to check if there was hardware error, smart test both long and short ones passed, vista chkdsk no problem, then i put it back again and did the installation again and same thing happened.
in short, vista installtion detects the hd, let me make partition and format, does all the normal installations, restarts itself and c drive is still unallocated, it forces it to boot from dvd drive and yes, installtion starts again from the very beginning.
any clue? i have tried 6 times and no success
