I have this only problem with vista that prevent me to be fully happy. I am at compete lost. I have this PCi Tv card (hauppauge PVR-150) with simple analog cable support. Sometimes, I will start media center and te TV will not show. Heard some funny noises, get a frame every 20 secs. Just rebooting the PC will solve the problem. I tried letting the tv run for like 48 straigh and 0 issues...so when its working, its working....until i shut down the PC and maybe then the next day it work work on first boot. sigh. anybody have something on this issues. I have SP1 installed (did it before SP1) ... my stull if up to date, the hauppaugee driver are on windows update. Thanks.

I would make sure your cable isn't split too many times before it gets to your PC. I had the exact same problem with a PVR 150 in my Media Center box (I also occasionally got blue screens in VMC saying no TV signal detected). Replaced an old crappy splitter and the problem went away. Cable seemed fine when plugged directly into a TV, too.

I tried unsplitting the cable with no better result. I read that there is a problem with pvr150 and vista x64 with 4 gb ram installed. Unless you start MC in the first 30 sec after booting, the card will not work. Sigh.

from their support site: Currently, WinTV receivers used with the 64-bit version of the Vista Media Center application are limited to less than 4GB of memory.

damn.

Ah...didn't notice your specs, I've heard of that problem as well. Sucks.

Oh man, I thought it was just me. I just emailed Hauppauge with the same exact problem. My card is a 500 MCE, but I also have 4GB RAM installed. Seems to be working at least somewhat better after SP1 for me though.

interesting stuff. I use the PVR-500 MCE board too, but my media center is only running 2GB, Good to know that there may be a potential problem if I ever up that.

Yeah, just got the response back from Hauppauge:

Currently we are aware of problems with vista 64 systems running 4GB or more of ram and are looking into the problem but at this time do not have a solution available.

Hopefully they sort this out or I might just go back to Vista 32

i have this problem as well, 150 mce card, 64 bit Vista and 4gb RAM. I spoke with Haugauge support. No firm dates for 64 bit version full support, but apperently they are working on it. I have noticed on my system, after SP1 it seems better. for me There is one game I play that if I play prior to MC launch, MC will not work.
