weird things happening at 1600x1200 on a 6600gt.

I switched over from a 6800GT to a 6600GT.

I've seen pictures of artifacts on the web before and its nothing like that.

Sometimes in battlefield 2 demo, trees will show up as wireframes and maybe it'll show its texture a moment later.

In cs:source in the video benchmark a get a purple color instead of some textures.

I'm wondering if these are artifacts or just driver conflicts?

The reason I'm not sure its artifacts is because it also shows sometimes random textures in bf2 . This happened on my laptop before too and a driver update fixed it.

On 1024x768 everything runs like butter.

Opinions? Ideas?

P.S.

Doom seems to run fine

Nalu 6600 however is choppy as heck.

Thank you.

Edit: Situation fixed. Driver Cleaner + driver reinstall seemed to fix the problem.

try re-installing your drivers. so you're saying that on 10x76 everything is fine but at 1600x1200 you get artifacts?

There is a huge performance difference between a 6800GT and a 6600GT. Don't expect to play games at the same resolution and texture level you were able to with a 6800GT. 1024x768 with medium graphics is what you should be aiming for. BF2 is also extrememly graphically intensive and may need to be scaled down even further.

Also, make sure you're using the latest drivers as they frequently contain bug fixes for the latest games.

Well I just wanted to see how it runs really. I was expecting smooth gameplay at 1600x1200. I was just wondering what kind of performance hit I am going to get at resolutions as such. Someone suggested I run driver cleaner and then reinstall the latest drivers. Anyone know anything about that?

Also, I appreciate you guys looking at my thread!
