Weird teleportation lag in games. HELP!

Hi there! For the past few days im having some problems with playing games. For some reason, every 2-3 minutes I will get crazy lag, and it will stop. You can see it at around 0.50. What happens is, my character just teleports in all kind of directions and places for a few seconds before returning to the original spot. This has happened in Battlefield 4 as well as in FIFA 15, where the game would stop, and then it would pretty much fast forward. This is really game breaking for me as it will happen in moments where I need to be spot on. For instance, when im in the middle of a 1v1 duel in CS:GO or when im about to score a goal in FIFA 15.

Extra info: I did some troubleshooting on my gpu, cpu and memory and found no problems with them. Another thing I noticed is, just after this sort of lag happening, my ping would jump from 24 to 80 in just 1 second, then slowly fall down. It also sometimes goes from 30 to 150+ in 1 second before slowly dropping. Also I have A router and a modem. The modem uses its own internet and I use it for wired connections like my computer while the router's network is used for wireless connections like my phone.

Teleporting means network lag. If there is an option to lower your network speed.... telling the game what your connection is..... So if you have fios 50/50 then change in the network options in the game down to cable or choose DSL speed.


Other things that can make you teleport like crazy is if everyone in your house is streaming videos no matter where they are from,youtube,netflix,amazon

One time in game the teleport lag was so bad that I left stormwind for ICC. I got inside ICC instance and once in I found myself back in the Auction House @stormwind.

So I suspect this is not hardware or game related but network related.

Optimize your network and tell your friends/family to get offline and I think you will be fine.

Also remember the time of day. Max lag will between 4pm-9pm EST.


What kind of router do you have?
No matter the brand of router if you just paid $40 retail then I place blame on the router.

Alright, I did also notice that when playing single player games, such lag wouldn't happen. I think you are very right! Thank you very much for your assistance! :)

with me was the same and after 1 week the provider sent a team and they found a damaged cabel. it was a dsl/lan internet, call them and ask for some network test on your line
