weird subwoofer issue

I did some rearranging of my wires this weekend, and now when i change channels on my stereo, my sub hit s really hard as i push the button and as the channel begins to broadcast.

Does anyone know what this is and what is causing it?

I would make sure all your connections are tight and that you don't have any bare wire making contact with anything.

Is the reception clear? What wires did you arrange? If you were messing behind the deck, I'd check the antenna connection to the head unit/receiver to make sure it's snug.

it was only with the amp. i messed with the battery, ground, remote, and speaker wires. i have it grounded under a washer which is tightly screw down to the metal body of the truck, but some of the ground wire sticks out from the side. also, alot of the battery wire sticks out from the side ( i'm using 5 guage, don't ask why, lol.)

I always trim the excess wire if it's sticking out or a little too big for the application and is all I have to work with. There may be some kind of interference or load that isn't dumping from the system properly and is dispersed through your subwoofer.

I would check your speaker connections - reseat the ones you messed with and check the others to make sure you didn't pull any out a little bit. Also check your RCA cables to your amp(s).
