My ipaq keeps turning itself on for no reason. It'll be off and then suddenly it'll turn on and light up.

Also, one of my cellphones which as been disconnected for like a year now still gets phone calls. It'll ring for no reason, but I haven't answered any of the calls yet. The thing is, when I try to call out from that phone, the phone tells me it's not connected.

Man this is so freakish. :Q

Ghosts.
Switch sites have them alot. Something funny about all the electronic emmisions kinda attracts them for some reason.

You dont have to believe me, but some day, go to a switch site by yourself at night. Granted, you need access to get inside....But still.....

Haha, maybe they get their jollies from listening in on people's phone calls.

*heh* Well, depends. Obviously no one can PROVE it, cause that would be proving the existance of ghosts. But, alot of people who work in those have some freakin weird stories. Hey, life is strange, what can I say? ;)

It's charged and turned on, I was testing out my cellphones recently cause my main one went bad and I was thinking about just using an old one.

So it'll be charged...then it'll start ringing? Does it say anything about missed calls? Also doesn't it like NOT have a # to call anymore? e.g. it's not attached to a phone #?

Not personal. But, my grandfather worked for SBC. I also work for a telco in a Op center and talk to some of switch site guys.
like I said, who knows? Being alone in a big ass room full of softly humming equipment at night may just put on on edge and make'm jumpy.....Then again, maybe theres more to it....

yeah it'll start ringing and I won't answer it. Then it'll stop and it'll say one missed call and it'll leave a phone number. Of course, I have no reason to call it back so I haven't. The phone was originally tied to a prepaid account which I no longer use, but I think it still has a number.

That just reminded me, I'm gonna try to call the old phone with my current one. :D

OMG, I tried calling the number the old phone is tied to and it just gives me someone's voice mail but it doesn't ring my old phone. :Q

I'm just going turn off that old phone and unseat my ipaq.

The ipaq has always been cradled so I wonder if that causes it to turn itself on. I just got it back from warranty service and it never did that before.

My Axim has never been cradled and does that every once in a while. I just see it light up from across the room.

maybe what's happening is that your new # is tied to a different phone, but every so often the switch network gets confused by ur phone being on or something so it sends the call to ur old phone. Oh yeah does ur Ipaq turn on by itself in other rooms/places? or just in your room?
