I just setup my computer yesterday.

quick specs: asus z68 pro, g skill 1600 8gb ram, 2500k, and intel s320 120gb (new) as boot with WD 1TB black(new) as storage drive.

Fresh install of windows 7 on the SSD.

Whenever I reboot or cold boot i will get a POST msg saying no drive detect and it will repost and then loads into windows just fine. So I went into bios and selected my SSD as my only drive to boot, but then i get a msg during post saying "no boot drive found please plug in a bootable device" or something along that line and the msg just stays there. I had to press the reset button on my case to get out. If I plug my WD 1TB back in everything boots just fine (but bios will still reposts with no drive detected).

I am certain that my windows has been booting from ssd not hdd.. because i only just formated the WD 1TB to ntfs in device manager so that it will show up for me as a volume labelled drive.

Not sure if anyone experienced this..

i don't think the intel g3 320 uses a sandforce controller.. but i can't be for certain..

No, the 320 uses Intel's own controller. However, I've had the exact same thing happen with the Sandforce sf-1200 drive in my laptop. First no boot drive detected, then boots just like normal. It only happened once though, after a hard reset.

Have you tried a full chkdsk check?
