Weird Screen Flicker/Shaking with 4870

Usually if i play a video clip like in .wmv and .mpg format, right before the video plays, there is a really weird like screen shaking/flickering before the video loads, and then it plays back fine. It's happened to me for every driver release too (using 9.3 right now). This does not occur with divx videos.

Just curious what the issue was and how you fixed it in case something like this pops up for others (I too have a 4870).

Basically whenever you try to play a video that is hardware accelerated by the card, it downclocks the vram from 900mhz to 500mhz and the change in the vram clocks causes the atrocious flickering, so I just edited the card's BIOS to keep the vram at 900mhz under its UVD profile (this probably voids your warranty if you try it though but the card has been nothing but trouble for me so it doesnt matter to me).
