The site works since i can goto it via 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.254.4 on my other computer on the router but I can't get the ddns to work. I know it updated my IP right.

The problem is the router is not pointing my 192.168.254.4 to my IP

I have a Siemens Speedstream 2604

I've tried many options and the funny part is... right after i disconnect and reconnect via pppoe, my ddns works but after a while it doesn't...

I'm thinking i should update filmware but questioning it since last time i updated my filmware on my router, it messed up.... so anyone have any ideas except going to the option of updating filmware?

You can run the dynamic DNS client on a workstation or the server, it doesn't have to be the router supplied firmware one. I use NO-IP for the purpose, and just run the client on the server.

But that doesn't matter if my router doesn't direct my server (192.168.254.4) to my IP... or does it?

If you are trying to access your webserver with another computer on the same LAN, it most likely will never resolve via DNS. Don't worry, that is normal for entry-level routers. The router can't redirect to it's own WAN IP. Have a friend at another location do the testing for you, and if he can get to your site via DNS, then all is good.
Make an entry in the hosts file for yoursite.com, on all the client machines on the LAN.

Some routers get confused with remote administration on port 80 and port redirection of port 80 to an inside host. If remote admin is enabled, try disabling it, and vice versa.

Hmmm, played around with more stuff... it seems right after i connect to trillian, my webserver no longer works.. would there be something on trillian that would mess it up?

After i started it, it didn't work cuz I kept reloading it. But even after i close trillian, it no longer works until i reconnect again.

The funny thing is, i'm not even opening trillian on my server but just on another computer on the same router...
