I just bought a radeon 9700 pro and it will not work in my asus a7n8x deluxe. I have pcb revision 1.04 and the latest bios (1004). When i put the card in, the warning light indicated a bad graphics card or a card that does not work at 1.5v comes on and the system refuses to turn on. I put my ti4200 back in and everything works fine. I thought i had a bad card, but I put it in my other comp with an asus A7V and it booted fine and ran flawlessly. Anybody know what the heck is going on here? I've tried contacting asus and the card manufacturer but have not received a response after several days. Thanks in advance for any assistance renderered.
 
Try plugging the power connector into a different connector, or reseating the card? Runs great in mine, using 1.04 bios and same board revision as you
 
whether i have the power connector in or not, the light still turns on and the system will not turn on. I tried elimination my power supply (antec true power 380 watt) as being the problem, so i stole the power supply outta my other comp where the card worked (antec 300 watt) but i still have the same problem. Any ideas guys?
 
you mean i'm the only one this has ever happened too? dangit.... Called asus technical support and they were busy. Said they'd call me back, but four hours later there was no call. This is really beginning to piss me off.
