weird question about my web hosting FTP

This has happened 2 months in a row, I checked my bandwidth usage today and it was very high, slightly over 3 gigs. Yesterday it was almost nothing. My site doesn't get much traffic, so I look at the stat logs to see where it was coming from, hummm FTP both months. I'm not using the FTP to xfer files back and forth. My usage was very low yesterday, maybe 200 megs. but between yesterday and today (and last month 1 day apart) I've figured out I did a decent amount of deleting of files thru Filezilla. I had a few Joomla installs which had thousands of files and took a long time to delete. I did a right click in Filezilla and hit delete. Would this be using up my bandwidth? If not, I can't figure out what the hell else it could be. Both months I've done the same thing, delete a 3 Joomla installs. And the usage was very similar. So it's all I can come up with, but that doesn't make sense to me.

I would contract your webhost provider to look into the issue. Maybe their stat log is messed up or logging the wrong site.

Deleting/viewing files over ftp should not use up to 3 gigs of data if your not transferring data.
