weird q6600 problem

i dont know if this is a problem or not yet but when running prime my q6600's core 3 just kinda lags behind all the other ones, only completing one test per run, but never actually errors. could this be bc i am using my computer while the stress testing is going on or did a core die? thanks

its fine, it means that something running on your OS is using up CPU cycles. u should always shut down all other programs/virus/spyware scans while stability testing, and NOT use your computer.

Kool. LOUISSSSS agrees with overcautious me on this. I initially kill everything except my UPS monitoring software; don't use the web; don't do anything while stressing. Luckily, this time and with VISTA 64, there's no version of System Mechanic available for "x64" OS's. I discovered I had to kill SM's background process, because it will mess with your stress-test program. so will your AV part of your Internet Security suite.

If you do prelim testing with PRIME95 and finish off with a couple hours of IntelBurnTest, loading up with additional tasks shouldn't prove anything beyond what you'd prove by applying the "KISS" principle.
