CDProxyServ.exe is running when my comp boots up and I never seen it before so I was wondering if anyone knew what it was I googled it but didnt find anything.

If you suspect a virus, then try this free web-based scanner and see if it detects anything. Do you have any reason to suspect a virus?

You might also want to tell what you have for

1) Operating system (Win2000, WinXP, whatever)

2) Service Pack (SP2 for WinXP, SP4 for Win2000, etc)

3) Hardware firewall (Linksys BEFSR41 router or etc)

4) Software firewall (WinXP firewall, ZoneAlarm, etc)

5) Exact brand and exact version of your antivirus software

6) Do other people ever use your computer

7) Do you use a full-blown Administrator-class account for everything (if you don't know one way or the other, then you are using an Admin account)

I have winxp pro with sp2 just using the windows firewall dont have any anti virus software loaded up, and yes im using the admin account for everything and im the only one who uses this comp.

Ive ran a bunch of anti virus and spyware progs and none of em picked up anything so I dont know what it is. .

You should have clicked on the version tab and that will have the info on the publisher, program name, coyright, etc.

I'd recommend you restore it from the recycling bin and RENAME it instead of deleting it. That's a much safer thing to do in case it turns out later you need it. Just add ".old." on the end of the file name.
