Weird problem

I just got an Abit IS7-E
and also have a 2.8c with Geil GD pc3500 ddr, and 9700pro.

It doesn't matter if I O/C to 3.5GHz, or leave the system default.
I get the same scores benchmarking the system.
around 5100 3dmarks 2003 around 16500 3dmarks 2001.

Shouldn't my scores go up the faster I run my system?

It's very strange, doesn't matter if I O/C or not.

Is my video card holding me back?

I did a fresh install of XP sp1.

Should I try another clean install?

Well Ram was my only guess, but since you have 1gb, that shouldn't be the case.

I'll hand this off to the more knowledgable experts.

have you tried disabling HT?

i knwo this sounds weird but try disabling HT and giving it a go at your benchies...

i had the same problem as well with win2kpro

for some reason when i benchmarked anything, only 50% of my cpu would be used...

after disabling HT.... i saw my pcmark score go from 6300 to 8600

and my 3dmark2k1 score go from 14K to 15.2K

(this is from a 2.5 ghz amd processor to a 3.5 ghz P4)

but before i had HT enabled my scores were on par, if not worse than my 2.5 ghz amd...
