Albatron px865PE Pro
P4 2.4C
1GB Corsair XMS 3200 (2 DIMMS in dual channel).
Antec 400w PSU
23" Sony LCD monitor
Radeon 9600 Pro
Windows 2000 Pro
Latest Problem: After a few hours of use....the everything on the screen becomes slightly blurry. It also does this (like clockwork) when the machine turns off the monitor after inactivity (set to 20 mins in power management). When you move the mouse to bring it back up, you get the same blurryness(sp). If I change the screen size, the problem corrects itself.
Also had to clear the CMOS today because it just would not find the keyboard on POST.
Before this, the machine had a Radeon 9100 in it. But the problem was different. The machine would take a long time to load the OS. And when it did, the screen was inlegible. Lots of yellow/green lines across the screen. You couldn't see anything. Also, not all USB drivers just would not install. Finally got into safe mode, removed/disabled the problem USB devices, and that fixed the problem for a few weeks. But the lines came back.
I ran Memtest86 today. Flawless.
I'm pretty sure it's the board. But I wanted to see if anyone had any other insight that I may not be aware of. I figure between the keyboard problem, continuing USB problems, and all this video garbage, it seems like there's one common denominator. Unfortunately, I'm out here in the middle of nowhere without any other components to use for troubleshooting (visiting family).
Thanks ahead of time for any insight. 🙂
