weird problem with word 2007

this is a small problem but it has been bothering me. normally if you open a new word document it says document1 for the title. but for some reason when i open a new document it starts on document3 instead. what is causing this

nevermind fixed it. i just deleted the normal.dot files and let word recreate new ones

wait i just typed up something else and saved it but now when i opened up a new document it says document2. why does it still do this
also i just found out that this only happens when outlook is opened. i can't close outlook because i need for emails
