Weird problem with videos

I'm a big Friends fan and I've been downloading the episodes so I can watch them anytime. While I'm watchin some of them the video will stop but the audio will keep going. I then have to manually click a little bit forward in the timeline to get it to start playing video again. I only have to go ahead a few seconds but it happens quite often and usually many times in a row. I think this is a problem with either my files or my system becuase I've tried different media players. Any ideas?
