Weird problem with special characters on this forum

I just typed in these characters: ~!@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>?

But what I got was this: §!"#$%&_()'?~^|>±`;:=

It's like my keyboard is all of a sudden using a different layout. I have english Windows version, us-international keyboard, language set to the same. Anyone else having this problem?

Well, it's GREMLINS.😉

First take: you may be infected.

Second thought: hook up a different KB. Is this a wired or wireless KB? If the latter, try hooking up a wired one.

Did U reboot and try to enter those again?

And try to cut down on the JAVA....and, I don mean JAVASCRIPT.:sneaky:

Can't resist trying: ~!@#$%^&*()_+ , rtc. Well, it works for me, so it is not the forum. How can that happen? As Virgo suggests, could be malware. Follow Virge's link. Something has remapped your KB.

GREMLINS.😎

FIRST, TRY THE OBVIOUS:, another KB---preferably WIRED--- to rule out hardware issue.

Then, check for INSECTS.

I know you said that the language is set to English (US International), but take a look at the instructions here for your version of Windows to make sure the keyboard layout is set to the proper language:

Never a bad idea to doublecheck. Turns out I indeed had an additional keyboard language installed, I think it came with some Windows update for my keyboard. It's a microsoft one and they really like pushing the fairly useless software for it.

Anyway, uninstalled it so I'm back to just US-international. Seems to be working now.

The weird thing though was that I would start typing a post and everything was fine, then halfway for some reason the characters would become messed up. If I then copied the text to notepad it would continue with the messed up characters. Then open a new notepad doc, paste the text again and everything would be back to normal.

Bravo!!!!

I was having a problem ACROSS MULTIPLE KEYBOARDS where it would somehow activate ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS! (I think 'sticky keys' was being started and I havent a clue how I was doing that!!! (It was a pain in the ass stopping it also))

I finally went to my reg and deleted all accessibility keys! (All but 1 that is set to ON and I dont know what that is and dont wanna risk removing it w/o knowing what might happen)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility

The one that is on is: 'TimeOut' and the value is set @ 300000

What exactly is TimeOut?? (Im sorry if I sound stupid,i just dont know)

I also left "Serialkeys" also under this key..... (Its got values assigned (Flags "2" PortState "1",Baud rate 300,etc -- I THINK ITS FOR THE DIAL UP MODEM))
