Weird problem with new volcano 7

I have an athlon 1400 and abit kg7 motherboard with a retail heatsink. I ordered some new artic silver 3 and a Thermaltake volcano 7 and installed it today. Once everything was back in, I tried to boot it up and it would turn on for about 3 seconds, and then turn itself off. I checked ever connection several times and took the whole system apart to make sure I didn't miss something. Everything seemed right so I took the new heatsink off and put the old one back on and the computer works fine.

Any suggestions? The heatsink is big, but didn't seem to be touching anything else. Could the heatsink be bad? Thanks for the help.

That is weird, maybe if the fan wasn't spinning it may do that, but not sure.
Try it again to see, but make sure it isn't touching any compacitors.

I may not have the answer but I do admire the the problem.

Just a hunch, but I would check the BIOS to see if you have a fan option enabled. The V7 starts out below 3000 RPM and my speed sensor won't even pick it up until it hits 2900 or better. I had to shut my low fan speed warning off to keep the mb from beeping during boot up. If you MB has a similar option it may be shutting it down. Not sure, but that's where I would look.

Please post your solution.

Good luck,
