Weird problem with my K7S5A

Diable

Senior member
I just built a new computer using a K7S5A, 1.3GHz XP, 256mb of DDR, GF2 GTS and a Montego2(Vortec2 chipset) sound card and Windows XP and Me. The problem I'm having is everytime I play a divx file with mp3 encoded audio or a DVD(using PowerDVD)the sound breaks up in either OS. Mp3's play fine until I scroll up or down a webpage or my favorites list then they start breaking up. I have disabled the AC97 sound and modem and the onboard Midi and gameport in the bios but the problems still there. I am using the onboard Nic and I installed the drivers that came on the cd in Me but not XP, could either one of those be causing the problem? Other then this problem the board is very stable and has not crashed once.

TIA

I think I have a bad board. I took the Montego2 out of the system and enabled the on board sound and mp3's and avi are still breaking up. I guess Monday morning I'll be taking the board back.
