Weird problem with Mozilla Firefox downloads...

Every time i try to click or 'save as" a download it doesn't appear in my download window and most of the time nothing actually downloads either. Its as if it never downloaded it in the first place, though sometimes it seems to work fine.

Reinstalling did nothing. Its really odd, sometimes the download works but it still doesnt show up in the mozilla downloads window.

BudAshes,

Do you use Firefox? If so, try this: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26">https://addons.mozilla.org/......refox/addon/26</a></a> Install and see if that add-on will help your download problem. I like that particular add-on...

If you don't use Firefox, might be time for a change 🙂 Don't download Firefox 3 Beta, however - buggy.

Hi,

I run into this same problem. I tried installing the add-on mentioned by NoelS but didn't work. Basically, the problem is whenever I try to save something using "Save Link As...", it doesn't show up on Download manager (doesn't even open DL manager), and downloads nothing. Downloading works fine on IE though. Anyone know how to fix this?

Quick history of what's happening: I was watching a Divx movie, and downloading at the same time. Then somehow the PC froze up, so I turned it off by pressing the power button. I tried to reinstall Firefox, even deleted the firefox folder, NOTHING happened. Then I tried to restore my PC from a few days ago, hoping it would fix it, and NOTHING happened as well.

Please HELP!!!!

smoduper,

Have Windows XP? Read this a couple of times, then try it. At this point you can't lose anything.

Sounds like you may need to try a Windows repair install to fix corrupted files. Stick your Windows CD in the drive and start a Windows install. You will shortly be offered a Recovery Install option (with an R...) DON'T use that R, use the next one, Repair (the SECOND R). After that you will think it's a normal install, but it isn't, it's just repairing your Windows files. It WILL NOT change any settings or mess up your programs. Should take about 45 minutes, but your Windows should work after that.

If that doesn't help, do a clean install of Windows!
