Weird problem with corrupted files on PSP memory stick

First off, it's not the memory card...I've tried multiple. Right now I'm on a brand new 256mb card.

The problem is this: When I try to put files on it, it usually gives me a directory error (can't find the PSP folder) after 1/2 way through. The files show up on the PSP, but if it's music, it ends up being corrupted after a minute of playing or so.

The locoroco demo was corrupted when put on

I can put jpegs on (i've tried up to 1mb)...and small wma files...

What could my problem be?

try independently of the psp on a computer. This will clear up the problem of MC or not or you need to get new software for your psp or its hardware.

Update: Apparently I can't put anything on this new card. It doesn't even show that it's transferring. That's even a step down from my crappier stick. So now everything I put on it is corrupted.

I think game saves will work though. We'll see.

Another Update: I am able to download files online and save them to the memory card perfectly fine.

So it has to be a computer or usb error. Which is it likely, and how can I pinpoint the problem?

try a different usb port or a different computer.

I've tried a different USB port, and each time it does the same thing. I have yet to try a different computer...

Ok, so I think I can upload small files onto the PSP (just a couple hundred kb or a bit more), because I just put a picture on it.

Based on the fact that I can put small files on it through USB, but I can download stuff just fine from the internet (on the PSP), what is the problem?

I can't be sure, but I think it worked on a different computer (it seemed to transfer files without a problem, but they weren't anything i could use on the psp...just useless files to see if it would transfer them).

I checked the Event viewer/log on my PC and it came up with this (when the transfer quits):

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation.
Source: Disk
EventID: 51

So, I'm assuming it is a computer problem...any way to fix this?
