weird problem with cd-roms on my comp., very WEIRD!!

I would like to ask your opinion about a weird problem I am having.

I have two cd-roms.

One is a burner. The other is a cd-rom.

The burner = Liteon 52X32X52
The cd-rom = Diamon Data 52X

Now, when I press the eject button on either cd-rom, the cd-rom ejects and then it AUTOMATICALLY closes.

Why does this happen?

Try opening the cd rom drive while the computer is booting up (i.e. when windows hasnt started).

If the cd rom drives still close on their own, you know its a hardware problem, else most probably its a software glitch.

If a hardware problem, try changing the IDE cable. Might solve it.
