Weird problem with bootups... i think this is hardware related

Hey guys, i have this weird thing that happens to my computer ever since i built it (for 2 months). Anyway, whenever i reset it, the system doesn't boot up to anything, and i get a black screen. But whenever i turn off the power to to the power strip, and turn the computer back on, it'll give me the 'beep' and load fine.

So basically, after i reset, it goes black and won't boot, then i turn off the power, it boots up again.

Oh yeah, and when my system hangs, the 'power' button doesn't seem to turn the computer off. Also, the reset button doesn't work in this case as well.

Here's my setup:

Abit Kt7A mobo
Duron 700
256 Meg PC 133 Infineon RAM
Quantum 30 GB 7400 RPM HD
SB Live Value OEM
ASUS TNT 2 Pro
Windows 98

Thanks in advance

Hmmm, did i connect something wrong maybe?

I mean if it was a bad connection, i shouldn't even be able to boot up and reply to this thread right?

I had this problem before. Something was shorting out the motherboard every once in a while. I took the mobo out and removed one of the screw attachements and all works fine.

I have the same prob as well
but it is gone now
and I did not nothing to fix it? it just whent away
