Im trying to boot from a windows xp home cd. The operating system on the computer is Pro but it will not boot from the cd.
I went into the bios and set cd as first boot priority but it still wont do it.
just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.

Thanks ahead of time :)

another note even tried booting off a flash drive and no luck either.

Theres a reason im doing it. just stating that so i can prevent the why put in a home disk when running pro

Do you have the CD Drive set to AUTORUN ? ?
Also on some pcs if you have more than one cd
drive, you may need to boot from a specific one

If you have two, try the other one

Also is this an original genuine os cd ? ?
Sometimes a copy just will not work right

I got it to work. I fixed it by disabling quick boot. I dunno I guess the cd needed more time to boot lol.
