Weird problem with Asus A7V-266E

I set up recently a system with that board. It uses the on-board soundchip CMI8738, and a good set of 6 speakers. The problem is that I heard crappy sounds when I play a wav. Before it begins to play, I hear crappy sounds. I use the Win2k drivers for the CMI chip. The bios is n°1004, and I already installed 4in1s437a. Could someone help me?

The drivers that ASUS have been shipping on their CDs is quite old, and there have been a number of changes to the drivers in the intervening versions. Try the driver that I pointed you to and see if you still have problems.
